What do Synaq, chef Jamie Oliver and the Qantas Wallabies rugby team have in common? They’re committed to supporting Movember 2012 to raise consciousness for men’s health.
Movember is a global cancer campaign founded in 2003 that encourages men to grow moustaches in November and is designed to raise awareness of male cancers and increase early detection and treatment.
From Australia to South Africa, Europe to North America, the support continues to grow year-on-year and 2012 already has a record number of supporters registered. Themed ‘Movember and Sons’ this year, fathers and sons are encouraged to grow moustaches together.
Synaq has decided to get actively involved in the campaign by encouraging its team to grow Mo’s, fund raise and use its platform to raise awareness around the campaign.
“Statistics released by CANSA in March revealed that one in 23 men will get prostate cancer; this is alarming,” said Yossi Hasson. “As a young company, we want to promote the conversation about health and put our energy behind this worthy cause.”
Synaq will be hosting a number of events during Movember and will match the funds raised by the Synaq Movember team during November.
“We’re a small company, but we’re challenging our peers to raise more money than any other industry through the Movember Captains of Industry Challenge,” Yossi concluded.
